Michael’s Fashion Influence
July 16, 2009 | Category: Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
We just received a red windbreaker from Volcom (the Gone With the Windbreaker in True Red). Immediately it made me think of Michael Jackson and his red leather jackets. Michael’s influence on fashion is so colossal; it’s amazing to see how many facets of fashion it’s infiltrated.

RIP MJ

Roxy Tanks
June 18, 2009 | Category: Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
As my years at the shop have gone by I feel like I’ve slowly grown out of some of our brands that are geared toward the “junior” demographic. Roxy is a great example of this. However, they always seem to put out a few great pieces each season at great prices that work with every wardrobe no matter how young or old you might be. We just received our first fall shipment from Roxy and I love all of it. Here are a couple of pictures of one of the tanks! Come by to check out the rest!

Faux Layering & a Faux Crooked Placket... it's Fuax Real!
Also, as a side note, I recently saw Roxy’s Holiday 2009 line and it is RAD! I would’ve never guessed it was Roxy. Lot’s of great plaids, flannels and crewneck fleece. And a ton of sweet, super affordable denim (all $45-$55)! It starts shipping 8/25 so I’ll post pics when it arrives!

Tonight The Community Project is hosting a fashion show at The Chapel on Capitol Hill to raise money for Northwest Harvest. Tickets are just $25, which is pretty affordable when it comes to fashion shows, and that includes a swag bag, as well as a catered champagne and dessert lounge! Mmmmm!

Vans!
June 17, 2009 | Category: Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Recently I had the great opportunity to travel down to the Vans headquarters in Long Beach, California to attend their book release party and view their Spring 2010 women’s line. It was a whirlwind adventure… we landed at the LBC airport at 2:00 pm on a Thursday and flew out at 6:30 pm the very next day. It was a blast, though! We even had a few hours to spare Friday afternoon which we spent on Seal Beach getting burnt.

Vans has been focusing more on their women’s apparel line over the last couple of years and it really shows. The current spring line that we have in the shop looks great! We’ve sold out of a few styles already. Their clothing paired with their sweet shoes makes for a well-rounded women’s brand. It’s refreshing to see a brand pay attention to their women’s division and put effort in to bringing us some original gear that isn’t too trendy or bland.
Check out some of the current spring line… and come by the South Lake Union store to see the rest!

Yellow!!
June 3, 2009 | Category: Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Yellow seems to be everywhere in fashion this spring… and won’t be going away anytime soon! Pantone (”the world-renowned authority on color”) selected the color of the year for 2009, and the winner was Mimosa! Pantone feels that “Mimosa embodies hopefulness and reassurance in a climate of change”.

That’s all happy and nice, but living up here in the northwest leaves the majority of us pale, thus unable to wear yellow. SnoCon is here to help you stay hip with the yellow trend without looking washed out. The secret?! SHOES & ACCESSORIES! Here are just a few of the yellow items we currently have in the shop! Come by and check them out!

These shorts have a 6″ inseam, which is the perfect length! It sits right between the usual 9″ long bermudas and the shorty short 2″ ones! The contrasting white thread adds a bit o’ pop, as well!

MapleXO has arrived!
May 7, 2009 | Category: Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Our South Lake Union location just received our first shipment of MapleXO jewelry. MapleXO is a company owned by Lindsay Jo Holmes out of Portland. Lindsay makes all of the jewelry by hand out of used skateboards. Each one is unique. Here is a bit about the business from their website www.maplexo.com;
“All MapleXO items are made from used and recycled skateboards. No paint or
designs are added to any of the items and they are each completely unique.
So wear something that has grinded a park bench, or board slid a hand rail.
Wear something that traveled with someone to skateparks all over the world.
Save landfill space in style and support the sport that stands for individuality.”
We have a great selection of bracelets, earrings and rings so come by and check them out!
