The city council met and decided to pull the plug on the idea of building a skateboard park in the Seattle Center area. The community voiced their opinions that the location intended to be used as a skatepark was not going to be a good idea due to the high frequency of children and disabled people that enjoy the fountains and art in the area of proposed demolition. Apparently not enough skateboarders were at the meeting, which was open to the public. But before you kick yourself in the shin for not showing up to state your opinion, get this; a new plan is going to be drafted to move the location of intended building to Second Avenue and Thomas Street, which should be a good compromise of sorts for skateboarders that may have been concerned with the idea of a skate park near Seattle Center.
