this guys name is Josh. got the deck online, trucks and wheels from the waterfront store, and the sweet blue grip from our main shop. he has a good-sized tattoo on his back, of the flag …not just any old flag - the Betsy Ross, 13 stars in a circle flag. so naturally i launch into how it’s hip again to be patriotic, forgetting that this guy has probably been ‘hip’ like that for a long time now.
stupid john.
and of course i sprayed about how happy i am to come out of my 8-year anger/funk brought on by that fucking smug chimp named W, always smirking even though he had Cheney’s hand up his ass making his lips move - well, you get the picture. Josh was super-polite and when he left i realized that i hadn’t asked him about his views, or what he thought of the election, or given him a formal invitation to our inauguration fiesta on 1/18/09.
typical jerk i was there.
so apologies to you Josh, because i like a good conversation much more than a monologue.
