I never appreciated Andy Warhol’s work. I thought it was stupid. I am an artist, a visual artist, and I had to pay my dues the hard way. Now that I’m in the industry (somewhat), I realize that visual arts take a large key from Warhol’s pop culture exploitation and artwork. From emulating snowboard design, to creating websites for the use of technical information across platforms, the work of Warhol pushes boundaries that I never really appreciated until now. Andy Warhol’s gone, but his memory is alive in the form of his non-profit visual arts community which has licensed a lot of his work for sale. The latest being Burton’s Collaboration with Warhol that brings his vivid imagery to snowboard bindings, boards, shirts, and even beanies! Andy Warhol is celebrated as a great artist through and through and I never really fully understood the crossover appeal until I took time to open my eyes. Maybe it’s time for you to open yours! Come check out our collection of Andy Warhol gear from Burton, and if you don’t have deep pockets or just want to celebrate the work of Warhol, then check out the Edie Beanie (you know what’s up) available online now.
What changed?
I grew up basically, which isn’t a bad thing, because now that I look back at my youth, I can note that Warhol’s influence is far greater than anything I have created, or probably will ever create. Check out all the new Burton 2008 gear at low prices online 24/7 via snocon.com!
