Almost Skateboards is the brainchild of Rodney Mullen and his select crew of skateboard legends. We at Snowboardconnection.com are proud to stock a new set of technically advanced skateboards from Almost.

I know what you’re thinking, there’s no way these things are any different than the traditional 7 ply, hard maple skate deck that we are accustomed to getting. If that is your notion, you’re wrong. The Almost scientists have created this new Impact Technology; you might remember this technology as the main feature on the Rodney Mullen experimental series, where a portion of the skate deck was removed and replaced by carbon fiber discs to absorb the impact of skateboarders.

If you’ve been skateboarding for some time, you already know that skateboards have a tendency to break at certain portions of the deck, due to the constant landing of the feet in specific areas. To help strengthen the deck, Almost skateboards has literally hollowed out areas near the nose and the tail of the deck near the impact points, and replaced them with circular discs, bonded together with epoxy resin, making the decks super light and stronger overall. By adding the adhesive in a different manner than traditional decks, Almost creates a deck that is smoother and more controlled during harsh landings.

Almost skateboards took a technology that was deemed experimental by Rodney Mullen, and has rolled it out in an affordable way, to get your hands on a stronger, lighter skateboard.
