Our intrepid leader Adam along with our snow buyer Rich just got back from the annual SIA tradeshow.  This is the show where we make all of our buys for next year’s snow season.  This year it was moved from Las Vegas to Denver, with a generally favorable result.  Here’s a quick recap for everyone who didn’t get to go:

Lot’s of great new products on view.  Some highlights:
* Burton’s Las Vegas-themed tradeshow booth, along with their new boots and boards (now with a new mounting system which is compatible with many other binding manufacturers - including Union, Ride and K2!).
* Capita’s new boards - including the newly re-vamped Black Snowboard of Death.
* Union’s new bindings - cool new model including the Flite!
* Jeremy Jones’ new board brand - “Jones”
* Airblaster’s new outerwear line looked great.
* New Oakley goggle called the Elevate.
* The new Volcom outerwear line is really good - great colors, materials and construction.

Other news:
Snowboard Connection was voted “Northwest Shop of the Year” by Transworld Snowboarding Business magazine.  Woo hoo!

Adam and Rich also got a special invitation to join Joel Gomez from Sessions at his VIP table at the 11th annual Transworld Rider’s Poll.  This is a really cool awards event - all nominations and votes are by the pro riders. It’s truly an honor to be recognized at this event.  Here’s a review of who was there and who won what:

The presenters included a roster of big names, for sure:

GT from Von Zipper
Eddie wall
Jeremy Jones (big mountain)
MFM
Bjorn Lienes
Erik Lienes
Peter Line
Aaron Bittner
And, wait for it:
Pam Anderson!
(yes, that Pam Anderson)

Here’s a list of the winners:

Another recap of Boxes for Days from Snowboarder Magazine, this time in video form.  Click here to go to the Snowboarder Magazine site to watch the video.  How many times did they say “Boxes for Days”?  I lost count (or didn’t begin counting, one of the two).
